Tuition
- Paid monthly (due on the 1st) or semesterly (24 hours before first lesson)
- Monthly rate based on an 18-week term; extra two weeks cover make-ups.
- Additional lessons may be purchased if no make-ups are needed.
- Mid-semester starts are prorated.
- Summer lessons (July–August) are paid per lesson, minimum of six lessons required.
Attendance
- Attend lessons promptly; your lesson time is reserved.
- Notify 15 minutes ahead if running late; lessons cannot be extended.
- Contact the teacher 24 hours in advance for absences due to illness or emergencies.
- Provide two week notice for planned absences.
- Summer students must schedule at least six lessons to maintain their time slot.
Make-up Lessons
- Make-ups granted with proper notice or teacher approval
- Two excused make-ups per term; mid-semester starts receive one
- In the event of illness or sudden conflict, lessons may be held online at your regularly scheduled time.
- Parents must be present for online lessons of students 18 and under.
- Make-ups have no monetary value.
- Teacher cancellations will be rescheduled or refunded.
- Students must commit to one regular lesson time. Multiple timeslots are not possible.
Calendar
A studio calendar is provided each term with lesson cancellations and recital dates.
Discontinuance of Lessons
Lessons may be discontinued at the semester’s end or with two weeks’ notice during summer.
Student Expectations
- Practice weekly: beginners 3+ hours, intemediate 5+ hours, advanced 7+ hours.
- Come prepared with all materials.
- Dedicate yourself to proper technique and reading music fluently.
- Participate in recitals; students may attend at least one recital per year if full participation is overwhelming. Please note that this alternative is not intended to be a solution for lack of preparedness.
Practice and Parent Support
- Teacher provides weekly practice guidance; students are responsible for daily practice.
- Parents are encouraged to provide a regular practice time, monitor assignments, and offer support.
These policies are designed to ensure student progress, skill development, and the enjoyment of music-making.
